Dish n ‘Dazzle 2010 – the BC Hospitality Foundation’s Fall Fundraiser on Monday, October 25^th will showcase some of  BC’s top chefs and high calibre bartenders.  The evening will be one full of fun and energy featuring an exciting Cocktail contest, food and wine bars, live music and a celebration honouring unsung Hospitality Industry heroes.

On the 26th July famed Georg Riedel of the Riedel Wine Glass Company conducted a rarely available seminar attended by more than 40 guests. The event raised over $1500 for the Foundation. Attendees found out through sniffing and tasting the value of using the right glass for the spirit being poured.

Registrations are coming in fast and furiously for the much anticipated July 19th tournament.  Don't forget if you are not a regular golfer that this year we have a 18 hole option on Westwood's Academy course.  So if you were worried about embarassing yourself at a golf tournament here's a chance to participate on a smaller, user friendly course.   Westwood's Executive course is high acclaimed is known as the best of its type in the Lower Mainalnd.

Founding members of the BCHF, the IVSA will be holding their golf tournament on  May 10th  at Richmond Golf and Country Club.  The BCHF will be there to raise awareness of and funds for the Foundation.

The BC Hospitality Foundation is excited to announce Geoffrey Howes as the new chair of the board. As former vice‐chair of the foundation, Howes is excited to take on this new responsibility from the founding chair, wine industry legend Harry McWatters. This role is a perfect fit for Howes, as his history of dedication to the service industry matches the BCHF’s motto of “working together to help our own”, protecting and assisting hospitality workers across British Columbia. The 2010 Tournament supported by the BCHA, BCRFA and ABLE will be held on July 19th  at Westwood Plateau.  This year's unique event will feature 2 golfing choices -  the Country Club Experience and the Academy Experience. Golfers in both events will enjoy a special day culminating in the awards dinner.  The Country Club event will offer 18 holes of best ball golf on Westwood's highly respected and scenic golf course.  The Academy event will feature 9 holes on the region's best  Executive course.

On Tuesday, May 4 the BCRFA will be holding their Central Island Golf Tournament.

The event will be held at Cottonwood Golf Club in Nanaimo.  $15.00 per player will be directed to the BCHF.  So please spead the word and go and play golf and support the Foundation.

The Foundation was well represented at yesterday's new product salon at the Four Seasons, Vancouver.  Attendees donated $2 to the Foundation to have their coats checked.  For once we were happy it was wet outside!!
Thanks to the IVSA for working with the Foundation and letting us "spread the word" and raise over $300.
The Foundation would be happy to "work" any Hospitality industry functions like this wine tasting event where we could interface with the people who will  potentially benefit from the Foundation.
