This scholarship was created to uplift and support members of the 2SLGBTQ+ community within British Columbia’s hospitality sector.
By helping emerging professionals access training and education, the award contributes to a more diverse, inclusive, and resilient industry. Powered by private donors, the scholarship reflects the hospitality community’s commitment to equity, opportunity, and meaningful career growth.
- The 2SLGBTQ+ Hospitality Scholarship celebrates and supports emerging talent in the industry. Each year, $1,000 is awarded to one student from the 2SLGBTQ+ community pursuing culinary arts, hotel management, restaurant management, or other hospitality programs—full-time or part-time.
- This scholarship is more than financial support—it’s about empowering you to grow, learn, and take the next step toward your career! If you identify as 2SLGBTQ+ and are ready to pursue your hospitality education, this scholarship could help launch your journey.
Successful applicants will:
- Self-identify as a member of the 2SLGBTQ+ community
- Be currently working in the hospitality industry (must provide current place of work)
- Enrolled part-time or full-time in a hospitality training program
- Demonstrate passion for and commitment to a career in the hospitality industry
- Be willing to work in British Columbia’s hospitality industry for at least 2 years after receiving the scholarship

Submit a 500-700 word essay that speaks to your passion for a career in hospitality and how your identity as a 2SLGBTQ+ individual has influenced your journey or perspective in hospitality. *

Include the name or description of the course(s) you have applied for.

Provide two reference letters from non-family members.
* Essay specifics: Be honest, reflective, and authentic about how this award would benefit you—your voice matters.

- Demonstrated financial need
- Ability to convey their story through the essay
